Catalin Lamp with Torchiere Shade

Rare and stunning art deco lamp. The fluted stem is made from catalin (the follow on from bakelite, catalin was made in much brighter colours) with a wonderful butterscotch / amber colour flecked stem with lighter specks of orange. The base is a stylish copper with a push switch which still functions. The gallery is in the same wonderful copper colour. In good condition, there is some tarnishing to the base and the stem swivels on the base but doesn't affect function or stability once in place. The glass shade is a fabulous pink torchière design and in very good condition with no chips or cracks; some minor scuffs. Fully working as shown and recently PAT tested, this is a magnificent art deco lamp. Height - 36 cms.
