Charles Lemanceau Brown Pheasant

Stunning original art deco statue made by Charles Lemanceau. Although this piece is unsigned, it is one of his more well known pieces. This French design was manufactured in the 1930s. A beautiful mixture of brown ceramic, the pheasant is in very good condition. The beak has the minutest of chips to the very tip and the base has a manufacturing flaw to the glaze at the back. There is also a chip just to the top of the base at the front as photographed. This is a large and striking piece of art deco history despite minor flaws. Height - 30.5 cms. Length - 43.25 cms. Depth - 11.25 cms.
