Demetre Chiparus Panther

Rare and absolutely stunning panther by renowned art deco sculptor Demetre Chiparus (1886 - 1947). This spectacular piece is a green patinated spelter on a sloped black marble base. Signed to the end of the marble D.H. Chiparus. The panther is beautifully modelled. In excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Some very minor marking to the marble at the back as photographed. Original Chiparus pieces such as this are highly sought after as one of the most highly regarded sculptors of his era. This piece is substantial in both size and weight. A high quality and fabulous vintage art deco piece of history. Width - 54 cms. Height - 24 cms. Depth - 16 cms.
